Retention
If the feature is enabled and you have permissions, the Retention page provides read-only views into your organization's record retention information. You can view your organization's retention schedule and content types.
On the Retention page, the Retention Schedule tab displays your organization's record series including their retention periods. Record series are groups of related records with the same retention period.
The grid displays the Record Series Code, Record Series Name, Description, Retention Period, and Status.
On the Retention Schedule tab, select a record series, and on the Actions menu, click View. The Record Series Details displays, including the retention period. You can also view the Content Types associated with the record series.
On the Retention page, the Content Type tab displays your organization's content types. Content types are categories for frequently used documents and records within your organization This information helps you find the retention rule, privacy classification, security classification, and other requirements for content.
The grid displays the Content Type Name, Description, and Status.
On the Content Type tab, select a content, and on the Actions menu, click View. The Content Type Details displays, including the Record Series associated with the content type and the retention period(s).
You can assign a content type to a record.

On the Inventory page grid, click the Actions menu to the right of the record and click Edit Record.

Or click the record and on the records details panel, click Edit Record.

On the Edit Record page, in Retention, start typing the content type name. The list will auto populate.

Select the content type.

Click Save.
You can specify a Retention Trigger Date, which is the date when the record's retention period starts.
A record's Disposition Date is based on the Retention Trigger Date. For example, if the Retention Trigger date for a record is April 25, 2026 and the record is part of a record series with Retention Period of 10 years, the Disposition Date will be April 25, 2036.

On the Inventory page grid, click the Actions menu to the right of the record and click Edit Record.

Or click the record and on the records details panel, click Edit Record.

On the Edit Record page, in Item Details, specify the Retention Trigger Date.

Click Save.
